Ready for a challenge

When asked if we could commit to a project without an end-date, a project that could change on-the-fly but one which could prove to be a game-changer for small businesses, we felt that we just simply had to do it.

This was a first for Southern Cross graphics. We have never worked with an agency to help produce an app. And we are so very very pleased to have been invited to work on this project. The outcome has been successful and very rewarding.

Design an app initially for the food and beverage industry, but with room to grow.

  • The Get One Free Club is an app designed for any small business that does away with customer loyalty cards for both print and digital. No more cards to carry around, instant verification and recording means no time wasted looking for cards, privacy breaches or hygiene issues.
  • Project Brief
  • Design an icon that can be incorporated into an app suitable for e-commerce. The app icon must be able to convey quickly that it means one free gift. The icon must be able to be used on both android and apple devices and aesthetic in design, appeal to a diverse age group and is not gender specific. It was preferred that the icon be incorporated into or as part of the logo.

The impression of a single gift was paramount in the design. The designers felt that subtly incorporating a one in the overall appearance was vital to communicate ‘one free gift’. We chose Brinnan Regular as our font choice because of the wide-open type. We felt Brinnan provided just enough eccentricity to the logo while delivering a modern contemporary feel.

Look closely at the icon and you can make out the subtle spur of the 1 in the icon.
